"Bring Your Neighbor To Church" Sunday
This Sunday (and every Sunday) is "Bring your neighbor to church" Sunday. Do you know someone who is unchurched or their church attendance has lapsed? Invite them to come with you to church this Sunday. You'll be glad you did.

Dwelling 1:14
-Dwelling 1:14 meets every 4th Sunday evening at 6:30 PM. Next meeting is Sunday, September 23rd. Location information to follow.
-The 2nd group Dwelling 1:14 will meet Sunday, September 16th after church in the fellowship hall. There will be a potluck and we will be studying Greg Finke's book Joining Jesus Show Me How. Please see Terry Royer if you have any questions.

SPECIAL LWML MEETING - September 24th
There will be a special Special LWML Meeting on September 24 at 6:30 PM to finish mission projects and prepare the fellowship hall for the fall rally. "Be there or be square!"

LWML FALL RALLY
St. John's Honey Creek with be hosting the LWML Fall Rally this year on October 7th. More information to follow.

SAVE THE DATE - Gary Thies visit
Mark October 21 on your calendar because our dear friend Old Missionary Gary Thies will be here at St John's for a special mission Sunday. Gary will lead bible class that day and share a special message with us during the service. Please make plans to attend and bring you children to Bible Class.

Printed copies of the meeting minutes are available on the table outside the sanctuary.

LUTHERANISM 101
Starting September 9th during Bible Class, "Lutheranism 101". The books are in. Cost is $10 each. Please make checks payable to St. John's Lutheran Church and identify payment is for books. Books can be picked up in the Church Office starting this Sunday.

St. John's Cookbook
We still have some St. John's Cookbooks left. The cost is $10 per book. Please talk to Shiree Jensen or Alice Goodell to get your copy.

RightNow Media!
Our church now has access to an extensive, new video library called RightNow Media that has a HUGE library of faith-based video Bible studies that you can access whenever and wherever you want-on your phone, iPad, computer, or at home on your TV.

RightNow Media has videos for everyone-kids, youth, parents, married couples, college students, single adults, working professionals-all aimed at helping you grow in your faith. If you have not signed up yet, please do so. Did we mention that it is free? If you deleted your invitation, let Nancy know and she will send you another invite.

If you have found a video course you like and would like to recommend it to others, let Pastor know.

HAPPY TIMES/ MY DEVOTIONS - 2019
It's time to sign up for "Happy Times" (for children under 8 yrs of age) and "My Devotions" (for kids 8-12 yrs of age). If you would like your child(ren) to receive OR continue to receive a subscription, there is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in the narthex. Please indicate subscription(s) and the number of subscriptions you would like. Please sign up by Sunday, September 23rd.

Serving the Meal at Mohm's Place
St. John's will be helping to serve meals at Mohms' Place every third Saturday of the month. We will be helping again on Saturday, September 18, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. If you can help, just show up at Mohms' Place at 4:30 p.m. We especially need men to help out. Thank you.

Nibbles Sign-up
We need people to sign up to bring food for nibbles before church in April. If you can help, there is a sign-up sheet on the board in the narthex at church. Thank you. Board of Missions.

Crescent Food Pantry News
The Pantry is open Tuesdays 5-7:00 pm and Saturdays 1-3:00 pm (Phone: 712-545-9031). Thank you so much for your continued support to the Crescent Food Pantry, both food, monetary donations and prayers. We currently need more "THE STORY" Bibles. They are $5.00 at Parables in Omaha. We have a great missionary opportunity right here at the pantry and in our community and the surrounding communities. Thank you to my wonderful volunteers and showing Jesus' love through you. ITEMS NEEDED
-Empty cardboard canisters with lids from Oatmeal, cornmeal, etc. Please leave in the church office of give to Shirley Kading. They are for upcoming projects.

ENDOWMENT COMMITTEE - SUGGESTIONS NEEDED
Each year St. John's Lutheran Endowment Foundation Committee receives 3.5% from our endowment fund. None of the income shall be used for the general operating budget of the congregation but may be used for: education; missions & ministry; worship & spiritual growth; building, maintenance and facilities improvement; and technology of St. Johns. The committee is currently looking for suggestions from the Congregation. Please contact one of the Committee members with any suggestions: Darrel Kading, Jeff Schafer, Mariah Lase, Vicki Roane, Dale Robertson, Shiree Jensen, Rhonda Collins or Pastor Kuhnle.

BETHANY NEWS
SUMMER TEEN VOLUNTEER PROGRAM - Bethany Lutheran Home and Bethany Heights are looking for some great volunteers between the ages of 14-18 to be a part of our Summer Teen Volunteer program. Teen Volunteers interact with residents and tenants, participate in activities, games and outings (ex. Zoo, Museums, Music in the Park, fishing at Lake Manawa, etc.) and assist where needed. If you are looking for an opportunity for a rewarding experience and willing to commit 2-4 hours per week, please contact Kaily Stanley at 712-328-9500, ext. 230 to sign up.

BETHANY AUXILIARY MEETING - The Bethany Auxiliary will be meeting Monday evening, July 9th at Bethany Heights. A short business meeting will be held at 6:00 p.m. followed by Bingo and a pie social with the tenants. Please note the time change from the regular meeting time. Contact your church key lady for more information.

GARDEN PRODUCE ALWAYS APPRECIATED - We all enjoy the taste of homegrown vegetables and fruits over the summer. Many of the residents and tenants were avid gardeners in their day and miss the taste of homegrown foods. If you are gardening this summer and have extra produce you would like to share, please feel free to drop it off at Bethany Heights or Bethany Lutheran Home during the week. We would greatly appreciate it and the smile you'll see on the faces of our residents and tenants is priceless!
